Round of 16 Suspended at Roger Dean

Games # 217-224 have been suspended tonight at Roger Dean.  We will attempt to resume play on all of those games on their same fields at 9AM tomorrow morning.  The winners of those games will then stick around and play the quarterfinals directly afterwards.  The rest of the schedule is to be determined, so keep checking back tonight for information on when you play tomorrow.

Everyone Plays Through Friday

Coaches, families, and players.  Please remember that regardless of the results of today’s games, every team plays at least once on Friday.  For the sake of the tournament and your potential opponents, please play out your whole schedule regardless of whether or not you’re in the running for the gold.  It makes for a much better event.

That being said, I expect that we’ll have a few teams head out early.  If this is the unfortunate case, please be courteous enough to notify USA Baseball so that we can get your opponent a fill-in to play.

Please post a comment on this entry letting us know if you plan to leave early or if you’d like to play another game in the place of a team that may leave early.

Thanks so much for your communication.

16U Championship West – Hotel Behavior Policy

Dear Administrators and Participants,

It has come to the attention of the 16U Championship West Staff that there were several complaints from the team hotels on Tuesday night cited directly against the “baseball group”.  If and when individual teams can be identified they will be contacted by the tournament director.  As Wednesday is an off day there is an increased potential for further problems in and around the hotels.

Hotel behavior is an issue that USA Baseball takes very seriously.  Misbehavior in and around the hotel properties absolutely will not be tolerated.  A one strike policy will be observed from this point forward.  Teams that are reported as breaking hotel policies or as being unruly may face immediate expulsion from your hotel as well as from the 16U Championship tournament, regardless of your place in the event or the stature of any of your individual players.  We encourage all team managers and parents to remind their players that they are representing their club, their families and themselves through all of their actions here in Arizona both on and off of the field.
