The 16U Championships are now on Twitter
Get up-to-the-minute updates on schedule changes and reseeding information by following one of our two tournament twitter feeds. If you’re in Florida and have a twitter account, go to www.twitter.com/16ueast and become a follower, If you’re in Arizona, go to www.twitter.com/16uwest. If you do not have a twitter account, sign up for one. It’s free and easy. We just did it for the first time ourselves.
Once you’re a follower, you can attach your mobile device to the account and receive immediate updates on rescheduling right to your phone. No more need to refresh the blog every 2 minutes on a reseeding night to find out your new team seeding. Just wait until you get a text that the blog has been updated and then you can go check out the web.
If you’re in the East where rain is frequently altering our plans, this will be the most efficient way to stay connected with what’s going on with the schedule. The twitter feed will be the first thing we update to let you know that we are in a 30 minute lightning delay at Santaluces or that the 11:00 AM set of games at Roger Dean have been pushed back to 1:30 PM at the earliest.
We hope this makes things easier and more efficient for everyone involved, which will, in turn, improve your overall tournament experience. Good luck to all of the teams this week.

With one game remaining (currently in the 4th inning) before we can officially reseed the tournament for championship play, we can announce the top 32 ranked teams as it has been determined that that game will have no effect on the top 32. 16U East Reseeding Note
All, we have to play 25 games today before we can reseed, the last of which is a postponed game from yesterday beginning at approximately 2pm, so information probably won’t be available until between 5 and 6. I can say that it will be a much more standard process than the last one we tried yesterday. Please stay tuned to the blog late in the afternoon through early in the evening for information on where you’ll be playing tomorrow and who’s going to be alive for a chance at the gold.

This Is Very Complicated
Folks, we are doing our best here but this is proving to be the most challenging reseed we’ve ever dealt with. Among the 6 teams left playing are 3 that are 2-0 and their results will impact the seeding of 90% of the field. The three suspended games will come back to Roger Dean for 8am games. Come to the Blue quad first, however we may be moved to Red. Once we finish the suspended games, we will officially be able to reseed and will play our first games at Roger Dean at 9:30AM. If you are 3-0, you should be prepared to play a game at 9:30 at Roger Dean. Come to blue first and we’ll let you know from there. At this point, there will be either 11 or 12 teams that will be 3-0. The tricky part comes next, because we don’t know who’s going to Santaluces and who’s staying at Roger Dean. We will be figuring this out soon. Stay tuned. Thanks for your patience. We are trying to figure out the best way to not have people waiting around or moving to Santaluces on short notice.
Rain Strikes Roger Dean Again, Throws Wrench in Reseeding Plan
Unfortunately, we still have 3 games to complete before reseeding can be absolutely official as rain stopped play in the final 5pm games at Roger Dean tonight. Give us a little time and we’ll have the reseeding for everybody minus those 6 teams. That will NOT be final, but it will give us a pretty good idea about tomorrow’s schedule. We are working on it right now and should have things in a little better focus by 8pm.
For those suspended games, we’ll be bringing you back early in the morning but we don’t know exactly where or when yet. Most likely Roger Dean, but bear with us for a bit.
Thanks for everybody’s cooperation today to speed things up. It certainly helped us in not having to play more tomorrow.
